This was a study of one topical gel in one wound-care setting

The 1994 multicentre study evaluated a glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex formulated as lamin Gel in people with diabetic neuropathic ulcers. It was randomized, evaluator-blinded and placebo-controlled.

Participants also received standardized wound care that included initial debridement, pressure-relieving footwear and education related to diabetes control and activity. Those co-interventions are part of the study—not background detail that can be removed.

Evidence should become more specific as a claim becomes more consequential.

The paper reported wound-closure and infection outcomes

The abstract reports greater plantar-ulcer closure in the topical gel group than in the vehicle group under the study conditions, with a more pronounced reported difference among larger ulcers. It also reports a lower incidence of ulcer infection in the immediately treated group.

A careful interpretation keeps the comparator, timing, wound type, topical formulation and standardized care beside those findings. The result is not a general property of the peptide name alone.

Topical wound evidence does not transfer across routes

This older study cannot establish cosmetic outcomes, systemic effects or the safety and efficacy of injectable GHK-Cu. It also does not establish equivalence between lamin Gel and another formulation or research material.

Regulators identify additional concerns for compounded injectable GHK-Cu, including potential immunogenicity and peptide impurities. Route and formulation remain material evidence boundaries.
